Libro Fotoquímico

Desde las Artes Visuales he desarrollado mi trabajo en torno a la fotografía, explorando los límites de la imagen tanto en su aspecto técnico, especializandome en emulsiones fotográficas del s. XIX, fotografía monocroma y el desplazamiento al soporte videográfico de gran formato, como también en su discursividad en tanto imagen de lo real trabajando en un campo expandido.

As a Visual Artist I have explored the limits of the image by means of photography.  I have specialized in Photographic Emulsions of the 19th century, monochrome photography and the displacement to large-format videographic support, as well as its discursivity as an image of reality working in an expanded field.

En este taller trabajo parte de mi obra fotográfica, principalmente en fotografía análoga y fotoemulsión, además de ser el espacio donde desarrollo el Taller de Emulsiones Fotográficas y Taller LIbro Fotoquímico con participantes de diferentes áreas.

En el Taller hace 17 años se ha trabajado en torno a la imagen fotográfica a partir de fotoemulsiones de contacto de s.XIX (Cianotipo, Goma Bicromatada, Van Dyke y Papel Salado). Estas técnicas corresponden a las primeras exploraciones impresas en base a la imagen de lo real, desde un soporte fotográfico. Todas son técnicas cuyos resultados visuales, determinados por los soportes de impresión, clases de negativos y modos de aplicación de las soluciones químicas, ofrecen múltiples posibilidades.  

 

El enfoque del Taller, lejos de guiarse por un rescate nostálgico de estas técnicas “antiguas”, ha sido explorarlas y desarrollarlas como herramientas de creación y producción, por cuanto se ha desarrollado a partir de una perspectiva experimental que enfatiza la investigación foto-gráfica tanto de imagen como en soportes. Ha estado dirigido a quienes buscan profundizar en técnicas alternativas gráficas y fotográficas análogas, como también a personas que, sin tener conocimientos sobre fotografía, están interesados en conocer y desarrollar sus imágenes en estas técnicas. En paralelo, y a partir del Taller de Emulsiones fotográficas, además se desarrollan Talleres de Producción, a modo de tutorías personalizadas, en los que se enfatiza el desarrollo de proyecto.

 

En este Taller han participado artistas ( que trabajan en torno a lo fotográfico, grabadores y pintores), fotógrafos, arquitectos, ingenieros, astrónomos, diseñadores, profesores, etc.

In this studio where I work part of my photographic work, mainly in analog photography and photo emulsion. It is also the space where I teach a variety of Photographic Emulsion Workshops, with participants from different areas.

​

For 17 years photographic images have been worked in the studio using contact photographic emulsions of the 19th century (Cyanotype, Gum Bichromate, Van Dyke and Salt Paper).  These techniques are the first printed explorations based on capturing images from reality, using a photographic support.  All these techniques offer multiple visual results, determined by the printing surface or support, types of negatives being used, and the many ways there are of applying the specific chemical solutions.

The Workshop has been conceived and designed in order to develop such techniques as tools of creation and production. This is far from being determined by a nostalgic rescue of these "ancient" techniques, since the Workshop has been developed from an experimental perspective that emphasizes photo-graphic research, both of image and supports.

 

The Workshop has been addressed at those who seek to deepen their knowledge on alternative graphic and photographic analog techniques, as well as people who, without having knowledge about photography, are interested in understanding and developing their images in these techniques. In parallel, Production Workshops are also developed, in the form of personalized tutoring, focused in developing a specific project.

 

Artists (who work with photography, such as printmakers and painters), photographers, architects, engineers, astronomers, designers, and teachers have participated in the Workshops.
